Lucknow | Acting on a serious case involving the abduction and sexual assault of a minor girl, the Chinhat Police team successfully arrested one accused involved in the crime registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and POCSO Act.
Case Background
According to police officials, Case Crime No. 38/2026 was registered at Police Station Chinhat on January 20, 2026, based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family alleging that their minor daughter was lured away and abducted.
The case was registered under Sections 137(2) and 87 of the BNS against two named accused persons:
- Asif alias Naimullah, aged approximately 20 years, son of Shakeel, resident of Murli Pipra, Police Station Shikarpur, District West Champaran, Bihar
- Samsad Alam, son of Safaid Miyan, resident of Village Pipra, Post Murli, PS Shikarpur, West Champaran, Bihar
The investigation was initially assigned to Sub-Inspector Dhirendra Kumar Rai, Chinhat Police Station, Lucknow.
Rescue of Victim and Further Legal Action
Following swift action by senior police officials, a dedicated team was formed to trace the victim and apprehend the accused. The minor girl was successfully recovered on January 25, 2026, from Aishbagh Railway Station, Lucknow, and was safely restored to her family.

Her statement was recorded under Section 180/183 BNSS, after which Sections 64(1) of BNS and Sections 3/4 of the POCSO Act were added to the case.
Arrest of Accused
Continuing the investigation, police teams traced and arrested the named accused Asif alias Naimullah on June 09, 2026, from Narkatiaganj Railway Station, Muzaffarpur, Bihar. He was taken into custody and brought to Lucknow for further legal proceedings.
Efforts are ongoing to collect evidence and complete legal formalities against the second accused, Samsad Alam.
